FAQs
Loch Ness Hub & Travel offers a reliable baggage transfer service designed to enhance your walking experience along several of Scotland’s scenic trails. By transporting your luggage between accommodations, you can enjoy your journey without the burden of carrying heavy bags. This service is particularly beneficial for those traversing routes like the Great Glen Way, Loch Ness 360°, Affric Kintail Way, and East Highland Way.
Each morning, travelers are required to leave their luggage at the designated collection point (usually the accommodation’s reception) by 9:15 AM. For those traveling from north to south, an earlier collection time of 8:15 AM applies. The bags are then transported and typically delivered to the next accommodation by 5:00 PM. This system allows you to walk freely with just a daypack, knowing your main luggage will be waiting for you at your next stop.
Each piece of luggage must not exceed 20 kilograms. Bags should be securely closed, with no items attached to the exterior. If clients exceed the number of bags booked, an additional fee will be applied. Any unscheduled baggage or people transfers will incur additional fees.
If a bag exceeds 20 kg but is under 25 kg, it will be moved once, and clients will be asked to redistribute the weight. Should they be unable to do so, a laundry style bag will be provided with client’s baggage after the first bag transfer. This additional bag can be kept by the client and the extra baggage transfer will incur an additional fee which can be paid by cash or card. Bags over 25 kg will not be transported due to health and safety regulations.
Baggage should be made available for collection by 9:15am each morning, with the exception of those traveling North to South whereby an 8:15am collection is required.
Baggage is typically dropped at its destination prior to 5pm each day.
